Miguna Miguna has taken the Majority leader in the National Assembly, honorable Kimani Ichung’wah head-on for saying that the Military Aircrafts are not reserved for the Deputy President but rather just the President and the first lady.
The Kikuyu Member of Parliament said that honorable Rigathi Gachagua has stopped being flown on military choppers because it was a government directive that only the President and the First Lady are entitled to use the military aircraft.
The whole issue started when the Member of Parliament of Nyando Constituency, honorable Jared Okello inquired why the Deputy President had to travel using Kenya Airways yet the Parliament always approves budget for travel for the office of the Deputy President.
The Majority Leader in the National Assembly said that the safety of the Deputy President is guaranteed and he should officially use the Police aircraft which is currently undergoing some maintenance.

He added that soon the Cabinet Secretary of Defence will finalize on the maintenance and the Deputy President will use the aircraft again. He also added that the Aircraft is operated by the Kenya Air force pilots so as to guarantee and assure the Deputy President of his safety.
Miguna Miguna said that he cannot allow honorable Kimani Ichung’wah to stand up in Parliament and lie to the country that the military aircraft are reserved for the President and the First Lady only when the whole country has seen Members of Parliament like honorable Oscar Sudi using the same military aircraft like matatus around the country.
He also added that several Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries have also been using the military aircraft and therefore it is wrong for honorable Kimani Ichung’wah to lie that the Deputy President does not deserve to use the Military aircraft.
Miguna Miguna added that the leaders must build a country of values and not a country of lies.
