The Senator of Homabay County, honorable Moses Kajwang, warned the government of keeping the military on the streets during the Gen Z protests. He said that, the public has started cheering them and they will start feeling high like heroes.
Honorable Moses Kajwang said that, if you look at the establishment of the military as a pyramid of the Military, at the base is majorly made of the youths, and they are also feeling the pain of their brothers and sisters.
He added that, the next thing that the military will do, is to take over the leadership of the country. This comes even as the Gen Zs are planning another march on 8th August 2024 dabbed as the ‘Nanenane March.’
The vocal Senator also said that, the things that the Gen Zs have been asking, are very valid things and they just need policies that need to be put in place. The Gen Zs have been holding some protests and to some extent, some of their grievances were aired.
President William Ruto was forced to reject and drop the Finance Bill 2024 which they thought was punitive and oppressive. Consequently, the Head of the State, also fired his entire Cabinet, except honorable Musalia Mudavadi who is the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Cabinet Secretary in charge of Foreign Affairs.
They urged the President to employ technocrats and not recycle politicians. He however reshuffled some of his former Cabinet Secretaries and retained some to their previous dockets.
President William Ruto, further promised to form a government of National Unity, and he nominated four top ODM officials into the Cabinet.
The former Chairman of the ODM party, honorable John Mbadi during his vetting, assured the public that he is equally a qualified technocrat to run the National Treasury despite being a politician too.
He confirmed that he is an Accountant and also a member of ICPAK after finishing his CPAK. He also gave his vast experience in Accounting and all the places that he has worked in including the University of Nairobi.
