Written by Tragically, a 24-year-old woman named Starlet Wahu Mwangi, who was the younger sister of Prophet Victor Kanyari, died at an Airbnb flat in South B, Nairobi.
John Matara, a middle-aged guy, was arrested by the Industrial Area Police Station on suspicion of her murder.
Starlet Wahu, aka Icey Wife, was a major player in the cosmetics industry, famous for peddling high-end footwear and apparel.
Her style and enthusiasm for life were front and center in her social media postings, which revealed her lively personality.
She admired her wig in her plush automobile and showed off her physique in an alluring bodycon dress in her most recent video clip on December 27, 2023.
In her November post, she proudly shared her academic successes, demonstrating that her online presence was all about celebrating personal achievements.
“You are not defined by your past mistakes; they happened yesterday. You are free to choose the people and the route your future takes.” She assured in a post from November 3 that you have the option to begin over.
So what Happened?
Wahu, clad in a short red dress, was filmed entering an apartment complex with a male in a web video.
Police were alerted to a murder at that unit the following day after the building management called in a distress call.
When the cops got there, they found the house locked from the outside, so they broke in forcefully.
While making this entrance, they found a young woman’s corpse in the living room, lying in a pool of blood. The body of the lady was naked.
Death by hemorrhage was discovered by our team. At a news conference, Makadara police commander Judith Nyongesa revealed that the victim had a sudden death.
Police investigations revealed the victim had bruises and stab wounds on her thighs, which they interpreted as signs that she had tried to escape the residence before she passed away.
Quickly after the tragedy, authorities began investigating the circumstances and secured the area.
The two had leased the apartment for a night out, according to preliminary investigations. The man had booked an Airbnb.
Among the many artifacts unearthed at the site was an HIV testing kit bearing a negative result, suggesting that both individuals had tested negative for the virus before.
Along with the victim’s clothes, a cell phone, booze, and what is thought to be the murder weapon, police also discovered used condoms.
Investigators are currently looking into the matter. “We will not rest until we find out who committed this horrific murder,” Commander Nyongesa declared.
The suspect was being treated for a stab wound at a local hospital in Nairobi when detectives were able to track his cell phone.
While investigators try to piece together what motivated this heinous murder, the perpetrator has been taken into custody. The inquiry is still continuing.
