PART ONE

In hushed tones, Sultana asks Kaka if he was able to successfully dump Kokan’s body in the ocean, and Kaka responds that he opted instead to throw the body into the ocean because he was unable to do so in the location originally agreed upon. After Sultana thanks him, she begs him not to abandon her. When JJ walks in on them kissing and hugging, Sultana becomes overly happy and calls JJ’s name repeatedly, but he doesn’t seem to be in a particularly cheerful mood.

When Major inquires about Sada, Asiya says she hasn’t heard anything about her, but she has a hunch she’s not around because Sada didn’t take her possessions with her when she left and if she were, she’d be back by now. Major claims that if he hadn’t informed their father the truth, Sada would have stolen all of his belongings since he took him for a fool.

Sada can’t believe she ran into Mr. Halid’s funeral procession. He assures her that he remembers her after all these years, and that his wife is the one who passed away, albeit he has been sick for so long that everyone thought it was him when the word spread. Sada feels sorry for him and wants to express her sympathy by sending him her condolences. Mr. Halid claims that all the papers in his office are symbols of people’s possessions; nonetheless, Sada couldn’t change their father’s mind about choosing Major as his heir, and so he disinherited her. That’s why she was there, Sada says, but he says she needs to be brave and fight for what little she has left. Sada wonders whether there is any kind of proof available that their father didn’t want Major to be his successor. The man thanks God that he is still alive and offers to give her a copy of his will in exchange for her gratitude.

Fatima gives her goon the household goods she bought as a pass to enter every home in the village, with the instructions that if he sees the girl he is to alert Fatima as soon as possible.

Kaka excuses JJ and Sultana; Sultana is glad JJ was there because he needs to know something, but JJ tells her that the reason he came was crucial, and that he doesn’t need to hear anything else from her because he no longer cares about her. He says he wants to get a paternity test done, but Sultana is utterly against it, and she wonders why he has lost trust in her despite everything she has been through at his father’s hands. He says he is there to discuss the pregnancy, and she tells him that was what she wanted to tell him. To his right, JJ spots Maria emerging from the home.

Mr. Halid asks Sada to be patient because his wife’s death has thrown his life into disarray. Sada tells Mr. Halid not to worry, saying she is not in a rush because she may have come at the wrong moment, but Mr. Halid was certain this day would come to pass, just as Jabali, Sada’s father, had prophesied. Sada doesn’t care about anything but returning home with the paperwork. Mr. Halid gushes over her since she led a peaceful life and he can see why her father chose her to be the heir.

Buya worries that if he stays at Kaka’s place for too long without medication, he would become paralyzed and permanently disabled. JJ tries to reason with the police and asks if they have any proof that he committed the crime, but they tell him he is a suspect until he is proven innocent. Maria decides to leave because she can’t stand the suspense of being discovered, but Bi. Salama reassures her that JJ is a good man and she shouldn’t worry. She’s concerned that she may have missed crucial information about the attack on Kokan.

Kaka and Sultana are asked if they were aware of it, and they both categorically deny it. Kaka quickly leaves after saying he doesn’t believe JJ was involved in what happened to Kokan. Fatima’s goon, who was carrying some household goods, brushes into JJ, who examines him closely; the goon then pulls out his phone, but Kaka knocks him over, breaking the phone. Bi. Salama questions Kaka’s support for JJ, despite the fact that JJ appears to be the prime suspect in every scenario and that Sultana’s pregnancy has exacerbated the situation. And when Sultana wants Bi. Salama to claim that she was a killer, Bi. Salama says she understands about love and she feels that Sultana and JJ teamed up to injure Kokan, so she knows there’s something Sultana is withholding from him. She walks across town all alone, lamenting the loss of the man she loves to the cops.
