PART ONE
Fatima stresses to Sada that Buya is not her husband and he should be one of the least people of her concern. Sada suggests that Major is the next person she will try to bankrupt. She will find out what Fatima has planned and make it public, Sada warns her. Fatima leaves, and JJ joins them on the balcony. JJ warns Sada not to provoke Fatima again, saying that she is a dangerous person. Sada advises JJ to deal with Fatima now, before she causes any further friction. JJ claims Major’s stupidity led to the death of Maneno and that it was not Fatima’s idea. That Major will eventually face justice is something JJ predicts.
Sada advises JJ that they make amends with Sultana as soon as possible. There is a large turnout for the funeral. Everyone is sad, but Zuu and Bi Salama in particular have been hit hard. When Zuu’s father passed away, Salama’s brother did as well. A pervasive sense of melancholy permeates the atmosphere. The villagers have gathered around to comfort the berieved, and they are all crying and weeping including Sultana..
Fatima walks up to Major at his home and tells him he needs a report because they both agreed that he should handle things with Sada, but it appears that he hasn’t. If JJ and Dida’s marriage doesn’t work out, then their plans won’t work, Fatima warns Major. Fatima is assured by Major that Bi Ua is in good hands. Disgusted by Major’s mention of Ua, Fatima feels he has no business talking about such a subject. Those in the village have returned home after attending the funeral. The multitude includes Dida as well. Kaka breaks away from the group, and Dida doesn’t lag far after.
When JJ and Sada show up at Bi Salama’s house, Kokan loses his cool and starts attacking them. Kokan warns them off, calling them murderers. JJ assures him that he is aware that he was innocent. Sada reassures Kokan that JJ did not commit any murders. From afar, Sultana yells at Kokan, telling him to get away from JJ. JJ sees Sultana and approaches her to express his gratitude for rescuing him.
Bi Asiya goes to Major’s residence to check on Ua and plot her death. She then proceeds to suffocate Bi Ua with a pillow while lying on top of her. Major walks in, pulls out his gun, and readies to fire. Relax, she was only thinking about you guys.
Eventually, she decides to relocate closer to them, and Bi Ua reveals that she is aware that Asiya and Salama changed the child from a girl to a boy in order to appease Major. Major enters the room moments before Asiya responds and asks her whether what Bi Ua is saying is true. Asiya keeps quiet and stutters. Asiya confirms the truth of this matter to Major. She was just thinking, by the way, so guys, come your balls or tits. Bi Ua hasn’t woken up yet. She has not regained consciousness. Asiya breaks down in tears.
PART TWO
When JJ returns to the village, Sultana gives him back his ring and warns him not to return. She’s inconsolable and seething with rage. Sada warns Sultana to stop torturing JJ in this manner. Kokan yells at Sada to stop what she’s doing, saying that Sultana has already made up her mind and that JJ should leave. JJ learns from Sultana that she does not love him. Kokan warns JJ to leave immediately or he will round up the crowd to kill him. The crowd is yelling at JJ and clearly wants blood.
In this scene, Babu arrives and orders Kokan to walk Sultana. Kokan’s machine seems to have risen his trouser when he becomes thrilled. The young people, according to Babu, have to have a chat. He just looks at JJ, silently considering him.
Dida discovers Kaka lounging alone. She catches up to him and comments that she was surprised by how quickly he was walking. Kaka is frustrated by her silence and orders her to speak up if she really wants to communicate with him. After losing JJ and now Kaka, Dida says she has accepted her fate. Kaka has an abrasive and impatient personality. He tells her to make her argument clearly and to quit wasting his time. Dida explains to Kaka that she comes to the town to help the locals. Kaka tells Dida he doesn’t get it.
Dida tells him that she hopes she, too, can find a man who would love her as much as he loves the village girl. Kaka is taken aback because he has no idea where Dida got such information. Dida explains to him the toll that her family’s drama has taken on her, how she sometimes just wants someone to talk to, and how she was just getting over the trauma of JJ and Sultana’s relationship when she was confronted with Kaka’s harshness. Dida assures Kaka that she can clearly hear him. She gets to her feet and walks away, but not before Kaka has been visibly affected by her remarks. Kaka watches as she walks away, unsure of what to do. He is witnessing the departure of the woman he loves.
Dida leaves kaka and proceeds down the road. She starts crying. However, Kaka appears and grabs her from behind. Kaka explains to Dida that he cannot bear to think of her dealing with their problems on her own. Their eyes well up with tears as they embrace one other. From across the room, JJ watches as they embrace. Even though JJ is holding Sultana’s ring in his palm, he still can’t believe it. He retreats a single step and silently prays that the universe will devour him. He can no longer have a happy home life because he has lost both women.
Babu has called the village elders together, including Bi Salama and Sada. Babu tells Bi Salama that if she hadn’t been so careless as to let a boy like JJ induce her to visit Major’s residence, Maneno would still be alive today. As Bi Salama sobs through another lecture from Bubu, the latter does not stop. From the wedding to visiting Major’s house, Babu tells Bi Salama that their actions were all inappropriate.
Bi Asia heads to Major’s residence to hung out with him as she makes Major a cup of tea, but he criticizes her for taking too long. While attempting to pour the tea into the cup, Asia instead pours it all over the table. It appears she is losing her mind, Major tells her. After that, Asia gets up to go back to the kitchen, but not before bumping into Fatima and spilling hot tea all over her clothes. A scalding swat from Fatima. With that, Fatima orders her to leave. A cup of tea runs out, so Asiya heads to the kitchen to get more.
Salama tells Babu in the village that no one should blame her for Maneno’s death because what has occurred cannot be undone. She brings up the point that JJ has helped her out greatly, and that he shouldn’t be treated like garbage. She cautions them against placing blame on JJ for Major’s behavior. She explains that she owes JJ more gratitude than she owes them because he has been more helpful to her than they have been. Salama, now in tears, continues her lesson while Babu finally learns to keep his lips shut. Bi As Salama sobs, Sada tries to console her.
Asia fears things would only become worse when they visit Major’s place. Perhaps she should tell Major the truth, but she fears for her life if she does. The truth is something she’s decided to ignore. However, she is well aware that Bi Salama is her primary obstacle.
