Teachers Ordered to Start Teaching From 8AM to 3:45PM From Next Week as Term Two Resumes

Teachers have been directed to officially start teaching from 8a.m to 3: 45p.m as earlier proposed from next week when schools will reopen for term two. This is a directive that was made by the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Professor Ezekiel Machogu.

The directive highlights that the main significance of this arrangement is to maximize the instructional time so that it can guarantee six overall hours for the learning activities.

The Cabinet Secretary of Education also stated that this arrangement will give the students ample time of doing their own personal studies. This will also help the students to develop themselves well in the extra curriculum activities.

He also stated the six hours will maintain a good balance between the demands of academic participation and the students welfare.

He even said that this was reached after doing comparisons with some of the best countries that are known for producing quality students.

This is a new directive and it will now do away with the traditional way where by the teachers and the students believed that the more the hours of engagement with the students, the better the reflection of the results in the National Exams.

The teachers now have no otherwise but to strive and comply by the directive that was issued by the Cabinet Secretary of Education. This is the first time this is going to take place and therefore everybody is waiting to see what will be the outcome of it owing to the fact that it will be a new change.
