The following are the Newspaper Headlines for Wednesday 16th November 2022.
The Standard
The Newspaper talks about President Ruto’s biggest test after a judge stopped the vetting process of the 51 Principal Secretaries. This is until the case filed by the Law Society of Kenya is heard and determined. The LSK Petitioned that the appointments did not represent the regional balance and also the gender equality.
All eyes are now on the President as to whether he will obey the court order and wait for the case to be heard and determined or whether he will disobey the court order like it was done with the previous government and go ahead to form his government with the Principal Secretaries.
It also talks of the hour of reckoning for the four IEBC commissioners led by Juliana Cherera. They are required to appear in Parliament and it is not very clear whether they will occupy their offices until the next general elections.

The Newspaper talks about the man who owes Kenya 40 Billion shillings. He is non other than Cyrus Jirongo. It is stated that he borrowed 2.7 Billion shillings from Postbank Credit which is a government lender while he was still powerful in the government. He used two land parcels as a collateral and the loan has grown tremendously to 40 Billion currently since it has not been paid.
The Star
The Newspaper talks about the plot for a section of Members of Parliamnet to travel to Qatar and watch the World Cup. It is believed that for the 15 MPs, the taxpayers will have to incur the burden of paying atleast 1.8 million for air tickets alone.
