What was Witnessed as Manchester United Beat Newcastle 2-0 to Win the Carabao Cup Trophy

Manchester United finally met Newcastle United in the final game of the Carabao Cup. The two Managers were well prepared for the challenge because they all knew the task ahead of them. Erik ten Hag was full of hope because he knew that he named a very strong squad that was equal to the task.

The first half started on a very high note and the Manchester United players showed how much they needed the trophy. Luke Shaw took a very good cross and Casemiro headed it in past Karius. This goal gave the Red Devils more hope and they tried their best and looked for another one.

Marcus Rashford brought in a good cross and Manchester United got the second goal. The goal was however credited to Sven Botman as an own goal because he had a deflection of it as it was heading towards the goal.

 

The second half started with substitutions from both teams. Diogo Dalot came off for Aaron wan Bissaka, this was a wise move because Diogo Dalot was on a yellow card and he was defending against Allan Saint-Maxim who was very lethal. Alexander Isak also came in for Sean Longstaff for Newcastle United.

Erik ten Hag further made some changes, he substituted Fred and replaced him with Marcel Sabitzer, Wout Weghorst with Scott McTominay, Antony with Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford with Harry Maguire.

Eddie Howe also made some more changes, he substituted Allan Saint-Maxim and replaced him with Jacob Murphy, Bruno Guimaraes with Joseph Willock, Callum Wilson with Matt Ritchie and Miguel Almiron with Elliot Anderson. The game ended 2-0 in favor of Manchester United and the club lifted the Carabao Cup trophy.
