Sheila Wegesha’s body was finally transported to Nyalkinyi Village in Homabay County where she was first married. She is set to be buried there because she had been married and the marriage was still legally and culturally binding despite the fact that she had been remarried to Jack Bamboo.
The villagers of Nyalkinyi village wailed when Sheila Wegesha’s body arrived at her first matrimonial home. The people who were wailing also included her first husband, relatives and friends too to the deceased.
The convoy of vehicles was also escorted by motorists from Nyalkinyi village and they all escorted Sheila Wegesha to her home.
Before her body was transported to Homabay County, her friends in Nairobi who were not going to make it to the burial were given the chance to give her the final respect by viewing the body at Tena Grounds.
At Tena grounds, the body stayed there for a night vigil and people mourned and danced at the same time since she was also a prolific dancer and a lover and promoter of Ohangla music.
Sheila Wegesha met her untimely death at the hands of his husband Jack Bamboo who is also the owner of JB Liquor Store which is found in Umoja Estate. It is a place where Ohangla music used to be played by several musicians.
Sheila Wegesha’s lifeless body was found in their bedroom in Athi River where they were living in a posh house. It is alleged that Jack Bamboo butchered her husband because of infidelity issues and he could not stand it anymore.
Sheila Wegesha could not be buried at Jack Bamboo’s place because she had first been married before she left her first marriage and decided to settle with Jack Bamboo who also divorced his first wife and decided to settle with Sheila Wegesha as his second wife.
