Chelsea hosted Manchester United at the Stamford bridge for another thorough game of the English Premier League. The two Managers named strong squads according to the availability of their players.
Erik ten Hag left Marcus Rashford on the bench and gave Antony a chance to showcase what he has. The game started very well for the Blues and they scored two quick successive goals. Conor Gallagher scored the first goal and later Cole Palmer converted a penalty to make it 2-0 for Chelsea.
The Manchester United players tried their best and Alejandro Garnacho pulled one goal back for the Red Devils. Five minutes later, Diogo Dalot gave Bruno Fernandes a brilliant pass and the captain equalized the goals. The first half ended 2-2.
The second half was very competitive and it was evident that all the Managers talked to their players and they told them that they needed all the three points. Antony gave Alejandro Garnacho a good pass and the young player scored the third goal.
It seemed like Manchester United had gotten hold of the game and the only work that they had left was to safeguard the lead by all means. This was however not the case because they were punished severely for not holding on to the lead.
Chelsea got another penalty during the extra time and Cole Palmer was given the role to take it. He comfortably scored the goal past Andre Onana. The Chelsea fans thought that at least one point was better than nothing but Cole Palmer felt that one point was not enough.
Enzo Fernandez took a short corner kick and gave Cole Palmer a brilliant pass. The England international player scored it past Andre Onana and the whole crowd of the Chelsea fans and player and staff started celebrating.
It only took Cole Palmer 82 seconds to silence Manchester United. His last two goals came in a span of only 82 seconds.
Mauricio Pochettino made all the five changes. He substituted Mykhailo Mudryk with Raheem Sterling, Moises Caicedo with Carney Chukwuemeka, Malo Gusto with Alfie Gilchrist, Axel Disasi with Trevoh Chalobah and Conor Gallagher with Noni Madueke.
Erik ten Hag also made some changes and he substituted Raphael Varane with Jonny Evans, Rasmus Hojlund with Marcus Rashford, Jonny Evans who was substituted also got injured and he was substituted with Willy Kambwala, Casemiro with Scott McTominay and Alejandro Garnacho with Mason Mount.
The game ended 4-3 in favor of Chelsea after the 7 goal thriller between the two rival clubs.
