Manchester United hosted Aston Villa in another game of the English Premier League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named a very strong squad for that encounter. Many people thought that the Red Devils were going to get all the three points in that game owing to the fact that the match was played at the Old Trafford.
This however did not happen as expected. The first half was a very tough one and the club received some bad news after Luke Shaw got injured and he was taken off. The Manager then added a quick substitution and brought in Diogo Dalot. Aston Villa held Manchester United to a barren draw until the end of the first half.
The second half also resumed on a very high note. The Red Devils got another huge blow after Harry Maguire was also injured. This also forced the Manager to make another change that he did not anticipate to make. He brought in Victor Lindelof as his replacement. He also later removed Scott McTominay and replaced him with Edinson Cavani.
He was brought in to help in the forward line. He took the centre forward position and Cristiano Ronaldo went to the wing. His presence did not help the club to even get a single point. Dean Smith only made two changes and they proved to be effective. He took Danny Ings off and replaced him with Emiliano Buendia. He also substituted Jacob Ramsey and replaced him with Cameron Archer.
Douglas Luiz gave Kortney Hause a brilliant pass and he scored the one and only goal of the game. Manchester United got a chance to level things but Bruno Fernandes missed the penalty which the club was awarded. The game ended 1-0 in favor of Aston Villa. This was Manchester United’s first loss of the new season.
