The Member of Parliament of Suna East, honorable Junet Mohamed sparked laughter during the vetting process of honorable Kipchumba Murkomen as the Cabinet Secretary nominee for Youth Affairs and Sports.
The proposed leader of the Minority, stated that he has taken note that, honorable Kipchumba Murkomen came with the same suit and tie that he came with, the last time when he was being vetted as the Cabinet Secretary nominee for the Ministry of Roads and Transport.
Honorable Junet Mohamed said that, he has a picture with honorable Kipchumba Murkomen, and he was waiting to see the former Elgeyo Marakwet Senator in a different suit. The sentiments of honorable Junet Mohamed made the panelists to break into laughter.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, honorable Moses Wetangula stated that, they should not judge the suit of honorable Kipchumba Murkomen because, maybe that is his suit for luck. Meaning that if he puts the suit on, then he is likely to be given the job and approved as the new Cabinet Secretary in charge of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Honorable Junet Mohamed responded to the Speaker that, it seems that the people of Elgeyo Marakwet where he had served, told him that, if he wants to get that seat, then he should put on the same suit that gave him the previous job.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, told honorable Kipchumba Murkomen that, he is the Cabinet Secretary nominee who broke the record for being the nominee, who received the largest number of memoranda against his own approval.
He however told him that, he answered all the questions satisfactorily and that showed his competence. He also said that, he is requesting the people who have served for more than 8 years in any sports federation to rescue themselves and give an opportunity to new people who have energy and vigour to be elected.
