Written by Kenyans have been given a rude shock after they have learnt that, there is a school in Kirinyaga County known as Mugwandi Secondary which has only one student in form two and eight teachers who are all employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
This has surprised many people because there are schools which have a very high enrolment rate and lack the teachers to teach the students. Kenyans made some hilarious comments on the school and said that, the one student is an all-round student with various roles.
They said that, he is the school Captain, the time keeper, the entertainment captain, the games captain, and all other titles that are found in secondary schools including the extra curriculum activities.
This means that, he is the time keeper and he is the one who rings the bell for the teachers so that they can come from break and teach him. He can decide whether the school will continue or not, because if he is absent, then there is no school that day.
The one student has the authority to dictate the teachers because when he misses school, then all teachers have an off day because all of them will not have anybody to teach that day.
He also has no competition and therefore, whether he passes or fails in his exams, there is no way it can be gauged by comparing to the other students because he is the first and the last.
It is still not very clear whether the school has Assembly days because they can just call him in the Staffroom and tell him what they want to tell him.
The matter should however be looked into because the only student maybe going through psychological torture because there is no way one can be going to school alone in a public institution unless it is home schooling.
