Kenyatta University Students Travelling to Mombasa Fail to Show Up 3 Hours Later at the Bus Point

Kenyatta University students were scheduled to have another trip to Changamwe in Mombasa today. They were to kick off the journey at 6am in the morning for them to reach Mombasa early enough before darkness strikes.

Reports indicated that 3 hours later, there were no students who had reported at the bus meeting point. They were probably afraid having in mind that the last ordeal that happened with the Public Health students did not end up well.

It has not even taken one month and the memories of the students who got an accident on their way to Mombasa is still lingering in their minds. They can simply not just overcome that fear because many students died and others are still recovering from the injuries that they got.

The University Administration and the Lecturers should understand the students because it is just phobia that they have. They do not want to experience the same things that their colleagues experienced.

They have the right to fear because of the last incident. One of the survivors of the incident narrated that when they reached Voi, it started raining and then their driver tried to overtake, but he overtook wrongly and that is where clouds became thick. The vehicles were supposed to have a head on collision because the oncoming vehicle was coming and it was near.

The Kenyatta University driver tried to move away but it was too late. That is how the two vehicles collided and the accident happened. The other vehicle knocked the Kenyatta University bus and that is what led to the death of some of the students and some fatal injuries too to the students.
