Arsenal have all of a sudden gained interest in signing Chelsea superstar Jorginho. This is because Brighton & Hove Albion have held their feet strong on the ground and insisted that Moises Caicedo is not for sale and they have so far rejected some offers the Gunners.
It has been reported that Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of Jorginho and the club can go for him. Chelsea are also looking for a way to offload some players. The two clubs have already met and they are finalizing the deal. The player has already been signed and the deal will run until 2024.
The player has also been asked to travel to London and he is just waiting for the negotiations to finalize so that he can undergo the medical tests. There are many things that the Italian international player will add to Arsenal.
First of all, Jorginho is a defensive midfielder. He will be a great addition to the team because he will now have to give Thomas Partey some competition in that position. This means that he will add to the squad depth and Mikel Arteta will no longer be worried to alternate them.
Jorginho will also be a perfect backup for Thomas Partey. The Ghanian international player is a very good player but too prone to injuries. Jorginho plays almost the same way he plays and he will surely fill his shoes.
Jorginho will also bring a lot of experience with him. He is 31 years old and this shows that he has played for a long time and he can influence the young Arsenal squad positively. Apart from the experience, the Italian international player is also a Premier League player who has played for a couple of seasons.
He will not need any time to adapt because he knows everything in the Premier League. His addition to the Arsenal squad will be a plus because he will have an immediate impact and help in fighting for the Premier League title.
Jorginho is also a leader. He has Captained Chelsea in a couple of games. His leadership skills will also help in bringing more discipline to the team. He will also help with some of the leadership skills to the leadership team of Arsenal led by Martin Odegaard.
