Arsenal met Sporting CP in another game of the UEFA Champions League. Arsenal went into the game with a lot of positivity after getting back to winning ways over the weekend against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Jurrien Timber gave Gabriel Martinelli a brilliant pass and the Brazilian international player opened the score line for the Gunners. Bukayo Saka then gave Kai Havertz a good pass that led to the second goal.
Gabriel Magalhaes then added the third goal through a corner kick that was taken by Declan Rice. The first half ended 3-0 in favor of Arsenal.
The second half started on a very high note and Sporting CP came back with a new energy. Francisco Trincao gave Goncalo Inacio a good pass and the home team pulled one goal back.
This made the Arsenal players to wake up and they pushed for more goals. Martin Odegaard was brought down in the penalty box and Arsenal was given a penalty. Bukayo Saka was given the opportunity to take the penalty and he did not disappoint at all. He scored the fourth goal for the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta made some changes in his squad and the substitutes did some amazing job. He substituted Gabriel Martinelli and replaced him with Leandro Trossard, Declan Rice with Mikel Merino, Riccardo Calafiori with Oleksandr Zinchenko, Martin Odegaard with Ethan Nwaneri and Gabriel Magalhaes with Jakub Kiwior.
The two substitutes Mikel Merino and Leandro Trossard teamed up and the Belgian international player scored the fifth goal for the Gunners.
Tiago Teixeira also made some changes in his squad. He substituted Maximiliano Araujo and replaced him with Geny Catamo, Marcus Edwards with Daniel Braganca, Hidemasa Morita with Conrad Harder, Francisco Trincao with Joao Pedro Simoes and Goncalo Inacio with Matheus Reis. The game ended 5-1 in favor of Arsenal.
