What was Witnessed in Chelsea’s 2-1 Loss Against Southampton in the Premier League

Chelsea met Southampton in another game away from the Stamford Bridge. Thomas Tuchel made some changes in his team. He named Edouard Mendy in the goalpost. His defence had Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta.

The midfield had Mason Mount, Jorginho and Ruben Loftus Cheek. The striking force had Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling and Hakim Ziyech. Ralph Hasenhuetti also named a very strong squad for Southampton.

His squad had, Gavin Bazunu, Walker Peters, Bella Kotchap, Salisu, Romain Perraud, Romeo Lavia, Ibrahim Diallo, Mohamed Elyounoussi, James Ward –Prowse, Adam Armstrong and Che Adams.

The first half was a very tough and entertaining one. Raheem Sterling put the Blues ahead after several attempts of trying to score the opening goal. Moments later, Romeo Lavia also scored an equalizer to ease the burden of the game.

Romain Perraud and Adam Armstromng played well together and they teamed up for the second goal. The goal was scored by Adam Armstrong. The first half ended 2-1 in favor of Southampton.

The second half was also another one which had a lot of chances but none of the players converted their chances. Thomas Tuchel made some changes in norder to change the game but nothing happened.

He substituted Kai Havertz and replaced him with Christian Pulisic, Jorginho with Armando Broja, Cesar Azpilicueta with Ben Chilwell and Ruvben Loftus Cheek with Mateo Kovacic.

The Manager of Southampton only made three changes, he substituted Romeo Lavia and replaced him with Joe Aribo, Romain Perraud with Moussa Djenepo and Adam Armstrong with Lyanco.

The game ended 2-1 in favor of Southampton and the club is now at level terms with Chelsea in terms of points and goal difference. They all have a total of 7 points.
