Nottingham Forest hosted Chelsea in another match of the English Premier League at the City Ground, Nottingham stadium. The game started on a very high note and Chelsea showed that they needed nothing but a win to continue with the good performance that the club has been recording of late.
Cole Palmer gave Mykhailo Mudryk a good pass and the winger scored a brilliant opening goal. Nottingham Forest then equalized the goal through Willy Boly who got a brilliant pass from Morgan Gibbs-White. The first half ended 1-1.
The second half started on a very high note and Nottingham Forest got the second goal through the former Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi who got a pass from Morgan Gibbs-White. Moises Caicedo then gave Raheem Sterling a brilliant pass and he scored the third goal.
Two minutes later, Reece James announced his comeback with an assist and he gave Nicolas Jackson an assist that led to the third and winning goal for Chelsea.
Mauricio Pochettino made some changes in his squad and he substituted Noni Madueke and replaced him with Christopher Nkunku, Benoit Badiashile with Malo Gusto, Mykhailo Mudryk with Raheem Sterling and Conor Gallagher with Reece James.
Nuno Espiranto Santo also made some changes in his squad and he replaced Rya Yates with Anthony Elanga, Gonzalo Montiel with Harry Toffolo, Callum Hudson-Odoi with Nicolas Dominguez and Moussa Niakhate with Taiwo Awoniyi.
Chelsea got all the three points and this win has really helped the club because it has now moved to position 7 with 57 points. The club is now in a very good position to make it to the European Competitions next season.
Mauricio Pochettino has had a very rough time this season coupled with a lot of injuries of some of his key players. He has managed to turn things around and he will know his fate at the end of the season whether he will continue with the project that he has started or not. The game ended 3-2 in favor of Chelsea.
