Arsenal has yet again suffered another injury scare after the 1-0 win against Wolves. The win did not come easily. The Arsenal players had to remain calm and composed for them to get a win and a clean sheet after Myles Lewis Skelly’s red card.
Kai Havertz was seen struggling and after the final whistle, he could not celebrate the win with the other players. He fell down and it forced the team doctor to attend to him. This may add more salt to the wound that Arsenal already has.
In as much as Kai Havertz missed a lot of one on one chances against Wolves. This may be a very difficult time to lose him. Remember Arsenal’s squad is very thin. Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus are all out with injuries and therefore Arsenal is very short in the forward position.
Mikel Arteta has also not yet bought any player this January who can play the centre forward position. Leandro Trossard can play in that position but he is currently deputizing the injured Bukayo Saka
Ethan Nwaneri is also deputizing Martin Odegaard in his position because he was also missing in action against Wolves. This now complicates the whole issue because it shows that there is no squad depth at Arsenal at all.
It is however not known the extent to which Kai Havertz is injured. It is also not very clear now whether he will be available for the next match or whether he will be out for some time.
Kai Havertz need some time off because he has been playing full minutes for the Gunners and it is obvious that he is exhausted. It is time that Mikel Arteta should put some trust in the Academy player and see how they can perform now that there is no player who has been signed already to play in the centre forward role.
