Former Migori Governor Obado in Hot Soup as Court Rules Prosecution has Enough Evidence Linking him and co to Sharon Otieno’s Murder Case

The former Governor of Migori County, honorable Okoth Obado is a man in hot soup in regards to Sharon Otieno’s murder case that happened way back in 2018.

The High Court ruled that, the former Migori County Governor alongside Michael Oyamo who was his Personal Assistant and Caspal Obiero who is the former Migori County Clerk, have a case to answer in regards to the murder case of Sharon Otieno.

The High Court through Justice Cecilia, ruled that the three have a case to answer after the prosecution found sufficient evidence to link them to that murder case.

Justice Cecilia however ruled out the case that the three were also involved in the killing of the unborn baby who Sharon Otieno was carrying in her womb. While making her ruling, she stated that, by the virtue of the born alive principle, the baby has to first be born alive for one to be accused of his or her murder.

In this case, the baby had not yet been born and the baby died together with the mother after Sharon Otieno was murdered.

The prosecution team was represented by Catherine Mwaniki, Gikui Gichui, Allen Mulama, Bessie Gikonyo and Sarah Ogweno. They closed their submissions in the month of June last year and as at that time, they presented 42 witnesses of which a journalist was also part of the witnesses.

The three accused persons now have a case to answer and they will be required to answer to the charges placed against them in relation to the murder case of Sharon Otieno back in 2018.

The mentioning of the case will be done on 25th February 2025 and further directions will be given at that time in regards to the case that has been in the corridors of justice for quite some time now.
