Arsenal fans have launched their attack on one of their star players who they have accused of failing them and is the reason as to why they fell short at the Emirates Stadium against West Ham United. Arsenal suffered its first defeat of the season at the Emirates Stadium against the struggling West Ham United.
The Arsenal fans accused captain Martin Odegaard for the loss against their rivals. They said that, the captain failed to rise to the occasion when he was needed to. According to them, he did not show the leadership skills that were needed for the team in order to break the defence of West Ham United.
Some of the fans also said that, Captain Martin Odegaard was at the centre of the loss because he is the chief creator at the club but he failed in his mandate to create great chances for the other players to score. They said that, the captain could have used his intelligence in order to unlock the stubborn defence that Graham Potter presented.
The fans also said that, Martin Odegaard has become a shadow of himself and he is no longer the creative player that he used to be. The fans are worried that if nothing is not done, then Arsenal may be in for a very long season despite the fact that,
Aside from Martin Odegaard, Arsenal really struggled with the fact that there was no proper striker on the pitch. Mikel Merino was the one on the pitch but he could not break that defence.
Martin Odegaard thrives well when Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on the pitch. They both complement each other so well and when they are not there, it is evident that the Arsenal forward line is suffering. Kai Havertz in as much he is not a natural striker, he really helps Arsenal in that forward line.
