Arsenal met AFC Wimbledon in another game of the Carabao Cup. Mikel Arteta made some changes in the squad. Bernd Leno was brought back in the goalpost. The defence was also changed completely. The players who played in that position are Cedric Soares, Rob Holding, Pablo Mari and Nuno Tavares. The midfield had Maitland Niles, Thomas Partey and Albert Sambi Lokonga. The forward line had Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette.
The first half started on a very high note and Arsenal got a penalty after Gabriel Martinelli was brought down in the penalty box. Alexandre Lacazette who was he captain of the side stepped up and scored the first goal. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of Arsenal.
The second half also started on a very high note but things were not moving well for the Gunners. The Manager made some changes which really worked well for the club. He rested Thomas Partey and he replaced him with Emile Smith Rowe. He also replaced Gabriel Martinelli with Bukayo Saka. The two young players turned things around they helped Arsenal to get the victory.
Alexander Lacazette gave Emile Smith Rowe a brilliant pass and the young England international player scored the second goal. Cedric Soares also gave gave Eddie Nketiah another brilliant pass and he scored the third goal of the game. This was enough to send Arsenal to the next round.
Folarin Balogun was then introduced to replace Nketiah. The game ended 3-0 in favor of Arsenal. This was a very impressive game for the Gunners and the club continued with its good run after the initial setback at the start of the season.
