Inside President Ruto’s Phone Call With Trump’s Secretary of State

President William Ruto took a bold step and made a call to Marco Rubio who is the United States Secretary of State. The phone conversation revolved around some key issues of urgent concern and the mission that the Kenya Police Service has in Haiti.

President William Ruto revealed that, the United States has not stopped the support that it has been given Kenya in the peace keeping mission in Haiti as early reported by some quarters. He said that, the President Donald Trumph’s Secretary of State also acknowledged the critical need to continue with the peacekeeping because it plays a very integral role in making sure that order is restored in Haiti and the country is stabilized once again.

Aside from the Haiti Mission, the two leaders also discussed about the issue that is currently ongoing at the Democratic Republic of Congo. He also informed him about the joint meeting that is coming up between the East African Community and the Southern African Development Community.

The meeting will take place in Tanzania between Friday and Saturday and its main aim is to resolve how they can stop the conflict that is currently being witnessed in Eastern DRC.

This phone call followed after a series of reports indicated that the new President of the United States of America, honorable Donald Trump, had written to the United Nations and informed them about the withdrawal of the United States in the peace keeping mission in Haiti.

The air has now been cleared and it is evident that the United States did not withdraw from providing assistance in the Multinational Security Support that is being given to the Kenya Police in Haiti.

The United States Secretary of State had also confirmed through a statement that, the United States had approved waivers which will allow for millions of dollars in the mission critical assistance and also the National Police of Haiti.
