Kenyatta University Finally Issues Statement on the Fire That Erupted at the Old Moi Library

Kenyatta University got some tragedy and fire erupted at the Old Moi Library. The University Management then issued a statement concerning the same after many people wanted to know the exact thing that caused the fire owing to the fact that the students are not in school because they had gone for the holiday.

In the Statement, Professor Waceke Wanjohi said that the fire incident occurred at the top floor of the Library but it was contained after a well-coordinated effort of the Kenyatta University fire marshals, Kiambu County and the Kahawa Military Barracks Fire Brigades.

It was also reported that the upper floor that caught fire housed departmental and administrative offices and the good thing is that incident happened after working hours and therefore there were no casualties who were reported.

Some property was lost but the good news is that there is no staff or student who got injured in the whole ordeal. The security forces have begun investigations on what might have caused the fire.

The University Administration also sent their sincere gratitude to all those who made sure that the fire was put off and everything returned to normal state after the fire incident scare.

Those who were worried that there could be casualties from the fire incident now know the truth because it was confirmed that the fire happened when the working hours had already elapsed and the students were also not in the University because they had proceeded for the April holiday after successfully finishing their semester.
