The updates for the flood situation in the country now is worrying because Narok-Mai Mahiu road has been cut off at Longonot due to the heavy rains that have been witnessed around that area. Mai-Mahiu has really been greatly hit ever since the rains started raining.
Many passengers are currently stranded along that road and to make matters worse, it is night time. Traffic has really snarled up along the highway all the way from Suswa trading center and it is in both sides of the road.
Passengers who are travelling are advised to take alternative routes and avoid the Narok-Mai Mahiu route because there is a very high possibility that they may not reach their destinations and they may be forced to spend the night outside in the cold.
The water that is flowing down from Longonot has blocked the road and currently it is impassable. This is still a developing story and we will keep you posted on the situation as things unfold.
The message should be spread to those who had their kins travelling using that route so that they can avoid it for now until the situation is restored. With the heavy traffic being witnessed, it is very evident that those people who are caught in the traffic will surely have a long night on the road and getting home may be a problem today.
The eye witnesses have warned people and passengers to try as much as they can to avoid that route for now because things are really getting thicker and thicker even as the rains continue to pour down.
It was indeed a good idea for President William Ruto to postponed the reopening of schools until further notice because allowing them to reopen school would have caused even more harm and the lives of the learners and the staff could have been in danger.
