The Director of Public Prosecution, Benson Ingonga has finally found new evidence linking Sarah Cohen Wairimu to the murder of her late husband Tob Cohen. This has come nearly five years after the demise of the Dutch businessman at their Nairobi home.
Sarah Cohen Wairimu has once again been arrested and she will be charged with the murder of her husband. This will be the second time that she will get arrested after the first one in 2019 in relation to the same case.
She was arrested after Tob Cohen’s body was found in a septic tank in their home in Lower Kabete. She was later released after the case was withdrawn.
The DPP ordered the re-arrest of Sarah Cohen Wairimu after finding more evidence linking her to the murder of her late husband. The DPP wrote a statement that, upon the Independent and thorough review of the new material that they got, he is certain and satisfied that, Sarah Cohen Wairimu was involved in the murder of Tob Cohen.
Mr. Benson Ingonga who is the DPP was not satisfied with the decision that the former DPP Noordin Haji took by withdrawing the murder case against Sarah Cohen Wairimu.
Sarah Cohen Wairimu was co-accused with Peter Karanja and they were released on a cash bail of 2 million shillings each after they all denied the murder charges that were pressed against them before judge Stella Mutuku of the high court.
She is currently in police custody at the Kilimani police station as she awaits to be arraigned in court together. It is still not very clear what will transpire in the court and whether Sarah Cohen Wairimu will be finally charged and convicted for the murder case of her late husband, Tob Cohen who was a Dutch businessman who was found dead in a septic tank.
