The former Deputy President, honorable Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that, President William Ruto told him before he was impeached that, he should resign so that he could be given a lump sum amount of 2 Billion Kenya shillings as a package.
He further went on and stated that, President William Ruto also promised to give him security and also a salary on top of the 2 Billion Bonus.
President William Ruto also told him that he should resign so that he does not have to be in the political cold after being impeached and get the opportunity to vie again even in the next coming general elections.
Honorable Rigathi Gachagua however did not accept the offer, he asked himself whether the same person who was plotting against him could also be the same person who wanted to plan how he was going to live afterwards. After soul searching, he decided to reject the offer.
The former Deputy President spoke these words while in an interview with the local radio stations of Western Kenya at his residence in Karen. He also stated that, he was thrown out of the government because he was loud and vocal on the matters that were affecting the common Kenyan Citizens.
Honorable Rigathi Gachagua also stated that, he is aware that the members of the National Assembly and their counterparts in the National Senate were given some token in order for them to make sure that he was impeached.
He also stated that, he is aware that he cannot vie for any political seat now that he was impeached and it is not a must for him to be in the ballot. He further said that there are people who are saying that he loves himself too much that he wants to be in the ballot in 2027 but it is not a must for him to vie for a seat.
