Manchester United finally ended their long pursuit of Arsenal’s Academy defender Ayden Heaven and they have completed his move. He left Arsenal because Mikel Arteta has not been giving him game time, it is however not clear who he will go and bench in Manchester United.
Ayden Heaven rejected a contract that was offered to him by Arsenal but chose to cross the borders and join their arch rivals, Manchester United.
Arsenal fans sent a warning to their former player and told him that, he should learn from the mistakes of his former teammate Chido Obi Martin who left Arsenal after he was promised first team football by the then Manager, Erik ten Hag.
The Arsenal fans told Ayden Heaven that he will regret his decision because they do not see him getting any playing time in the team. They told him that, it is like he is sacrificing his football career by leaving Arsenal which is on an upward trajectory and going to Manchester United which is struggling with form right now.
The fans told him that, he should have exercised some patience and waited for his time to shine. They told him that he should have learnt from Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis Skelly and known that, there is time for everything.
Most of the Arsenal fans said that, Ayden Heaven failed to make a stab into the first team because he was given the opportunity to prove himself during the pre-season but he did not impress Mikel Arteta.
He was therefore being given some time off so that he can still develop into the Academy before being incorporated into the first team.
The problem with the Academy players is that, they are never patient enough to wait for their time to shine. All that we can do is to respect his decision and hope that he will finally get the game time that he needs there.
