The Standard Newspaper

The Newspaper talks about the Cabinet of blunders as the opposition puts several Cabinet Secretaries in President William Ruto’s Administration under fire. This is due to how they have been handling their dockets lately.

Some of those Cabinet Secretaries are Susan Nakhumicha of Health, Kipchumba Murkomen of Roads and Transport, Mithika Linturi of Agriculture, Ezekiel Machogu of Education and Moses Kuria of Public Service.

The Newspaper talks of how the State plans to recover the lost schools’ days that have been so far affected by the heavy rains. The government is planning to extend the second term and also the third term. The National Examinations which will kick start in November will however not be affected.

The Newspaper also speaks on how the State is seeking the nod from the Members of Parliament on how to spend 10.6 billion shillings on floods crisis. 228 people have so far been confirmed dead since the floods started and several families have been rendered homeless and they have been internally displaced.

A bench of three judges has also been formed to hear the six cases that are against President William Ruto’s affordable housing project.

The Newspaper talks about how the Members of Parliament are demanding 1 Billion shillings in Chamber upgrade budget.

It also talks of how Kilifi residents have been warned after river Galana broke its banks and this may cause human and animal conflicts. Governor Gideon Mungaro said that some hippos have been swept by the floods and therefore the people should be vigilant.
