Arsenal will face Monaco in another game of the UEFA Champions League. Mikel Arteta’s side is however facing some serious injury nightmares ahead of that clash. Things are not really working well for the club especially at the left back position and the defence at large.
Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are nowhere near return but this may not be a very big issue or problem, because Jurrien Timber is present and he will cover that position very well.
Gabriel Magalhaes will also miss the match because he has not been seen in training after receiving a knock in the huge win against West Ham United. This means that Jakub Kiwior will continue to deputize him in that position.
Oleksandr Zinchenko also picked a knock during the match against Manchester United. Riccardo Calafiori will also miss the game and this means that, the left back position will once again be affected.
Thomas Partey was played in that position in the 1-1, he performed well but he could have done better if he was deployed in the midfield where he is comfortable with.
It now high time for Mikel Arteta to trust Kieran Tierney and give him some minutes. He has fully recovered from his injury and he is also a natural left back. He might be the grip that Mikel Arteta needs now that he is short of players in the left back position.
He also has Lewis Skelly who has also proved that he can fill that position in times of crisis like this when the team is hard hit with injury woes.
