Betrayal in the City as Raila seemed to have endorsed Governor Johnson Sakaja over his own ardent supporters, honorable Babu Owino of Embakasi East Constituency and honorable Tim Wanyonyi of Westlands Constituency.
Governor Sakaja was present at the Bomas of Kenya where Raila Odinga was receiving prayers ahead of the AUC elections which are slated for this coming weekend. The Prayer Service was organized by the ODM’s Nairobi Women’s League.
The former Prime Minister told the ODM officials that, as he heads to the Africa Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, he wants Nairobi County to remain firm and United, so that his man, Governor Johnson Sakaja can be focused and execute his mandate efficiently.
The message has a lot of weight when decoded, now that honorable Babu Owino and honorable Tim Wanyonyi have shown their interest in the Nairobi County Gubernatorial seat. The sentiments of honorable Raila Odinga just means that, he has partially endorsed Governor Johnson Sakaja indirectly and he pledged his support and asked his supporters and leaders too, to give him time to work for the people of Nairobi County.
Many people feel that, honorable Raila Odinga betrayed his loyal supporters who have walked with him through thick and thin. They expected him to endorse one of the politicians in his ODM party to run for the Nairobi County Gubernatorial seat.
Many people feel like, honorable Babu Owino has all it takes to run Nairobi County very well. They added that, the vocal Legislator has a very good track record of development in his Constituency and therefore he is the best man to run the County.
According to them, the former Prime Minister could have just given him a green light and a go ahead, so that he can continue with his push.
Governor Sakaja on the other hand, has been playing very safe and in his Administration, he employed even people from the ODM party, he said that he got votes from the supporters of honorable Raila Odinga because he has never talked ill about the former Prime Minister and he knows that he controls a huge following in Nairobi County.
