No Air Tickets for MPs as Wetangula Directs Them to go to Mombasa for EALA Games Via SGR

The Speaker of the National Assembly, honorable Moses Wetangula has today told the members of Parliament that, they will not use planes while going for the EALA games that will take place in Mombasa County.

He said that he will lead by example and all those who will go for those games will have to use the Standard Gauge Railway. He said that, this is part of cost cutting and by doing this, they will be able to accommodate as many legislators as possible while in Mombasa.

He invited all the members of Parliament (MPs) to be in Mombasa where there will be friendly matches between the countries in the East African regions like Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, DR Congo, Republic of South Sudan and Republic of Somalia.

He also requested the colleague members of Parliament (MPs) from Mombasa that, they should arrange a warm welcome to the Kenyan legislators and also the other legislators from the other countries who will join them.

Honorable Moses Wetangula further directed the members of Parliament (MPs) that, they should organize with the clerk’s office and the table office and there are clerks who will assist them to indicate when they want to travel.

Majority of the members of Parliament (MPs) agreed with that proposal and they passed it that they will all travel using SGR to Mombasa County for the East Africa Games. This will really help a lot in cutting and saving on the cost of transport which could have been very expensive if they could have traveled by air.
