DP Gachagua Allegedly Demands 4000 Shillings For Every Vote Ruto Got in Mt Kenya

Reports have alleged that the Deputy President, honorable Rigathi Gachagua allegedly demands that, he should be compensated 4000 shillings, for each and every vote that President William Ruto got from the Mount Kenya region during the 2022 general elections.

The second in command was also allegedly accused of banging the desk in a meeting that is said to have been very heated. It was revealed that, the Deputy President was denied 8 billion shillings. This is after he multiplied each and every vote that President William Ruto got in the Mt. Kenya region by 4000 shillings.

The relationship between the President and his Deputy seems to have hit a hard rock and they are no longer reading from the same script. Many people in the UDA party have welcomed the move to impeach the Deputy President from his position. They have accused him of several things.

President William Ruto is believed to have rejected that proposal and that is what prompted the Deputy President to bang the desk.

The root of the disagreement is believed to stem from contrasting views on governance strategies, with Gachagua reportedly feeling sidelined in decision-making processes. He even alleged that, he is also being mishandled by the Junior officers in the office of the President.

Additionally, political insiders suggest that Gachagua might be eyeing an early exit from his position, hence the demand for a substantial payout to facilitate his departure from government. He wants to start standing on his own as early as now as he prepares for more in 2027.

This internal wrangling has set the stage for what could be a major political showdown in Kenya. The National Assembly is expected to address an impeachment motion against Gachagua as early as next Tuesday. The Speaker of the National Assembly, honorable Moses Wetangula has also stated that, he is very ready to hear the impeachment motion.

The motion, which is likely to cite the Deputy President’s conduct during the meeting with Ruto, could potentially bring the rift into the public eye, adding to the political uncertainty surrounding the country’s leadership.

Political analysts view this development as a significant challenge for President William Ruto, who is grappling with maintaining unity within his government.
